Our Founder & Legacy

Late Dr. Peter Fanthome

Founder Chairman,
St. Teresa’s College

Dr. Peter Fanthome was a distinguished educationist and an influential leader in the Anglo-Indian educational community. Born in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh, he studied at Goethals Memorial School, Darjeeling, and later served as a teacher at St. Francis’ College, Lucknow.

He went on to become the Principal of St. Teresa’s School, Model House, and in 1997 founded St. Teresa’s College, Aashiana, with a vision to create an institution that blended academic excellence with strong moral values.

In 2016, his commitment to inclusive education led him to establish St. Teresa’s Day School in Itaunja for underprivileged students.

Beyond school education, Dr. Fanthome served:

As a Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly
As Chairman of the Inter-State Board for Anglo-Indian Education
As a Council Member of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE)
On the Boards of prestigious institutions including La Martiniere Colleges, Hilton’s School, and Frank Anthony Public Schools across India
