Established in 1997, St. Teresa’s College, Aashiana, Lucknow is an ICSE Anglo-Indian institution with a legacy of 28 years in education. The school was founded with the vision of creating an environment where academic excellence is nurtured alongside discipline, values, and character formation.
The institution is named after St. Teresa, the Patron Saint of the school, whose life exemplifies humility, compassion, faith, and service. These values form the moral foundation of St. Teresa’s College and continue to guide its educational philosophy. The choice of St. Teresa reflects the school’s belief that education must develop not only intellectual ability, but also integrity, responsibility, and inner strength.
This inspiration is echoed in the school’s guiding motto:
“Do All Things Well” — encouraging students to approach learning and life with sincerity, discipline, and excellence.

Founder Chairman,
St. Teresa’s College was founded by Dr. Peter Fanthome, a distinguished educationist and respected leader in the Anglo-Indian educational community. An alumnus of Goethals Memorial School, Darjeeling, Dr. Fanthome dedicated his life to education, serving as a teacher, principal, and later as the founder of institutions committed to inclusive and value-based learning.
Under his leadership, St. Teresa’s College was envisioned as a school that balances strong academic structure with moral and social development, preparing students to become responsible individuals and confident learners. His commitment to education extended beyond the school, through his service with national educational boards and institutions across India.
Over nearly three decades, St. Teresa’s College has educated over 20,000 students, earning the trust of families across Lucknow. While educational practices have evolved, the school’s core principles—discipline, academic seriousness, fairness, and care for every child—have remained constant.
Today, St. Teresa’s College stands as a mature institution shaped by experience, guided by values, and committed to providing a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment for every student.
Beyond school education, Dr. Fanthome served:
St. Teresa’s College continues to uphold its legacy of disciplined learning, strong academic results and value-based education supported by an experienced and dedicated faculty.
